Day 223 - Grand Canyon. Central Rim Trail

Our second full day at the Canyon was spent on the Cental and Eastern Rim trail, doing the trail of time and a
couple of Ranger talks.   This page is the Central section of the Rim Trail.

Day 222 - Grand Canyon...western rim trail

After our hike down the canyon, we hiked a little more along the western rim trail which is 7 miles long.   They have awesome shuttle busses that run every 10 minutes, so you can hike and ride all along the route.

Grand Canyon - Down Bright Angel Trail

We ran to the canyon first for sunrise pics, then back to the hotel for our free breakfast, then back to the canyon to hike.

Day 221 Grand Canyon - first night sunset

We had actually given up on the sunset due to clouds and went back to the room.   About 15 minutes before the official sunset time, the sun came out and the colors were gorgeous, so we jumped in the car and headed back to the canyone.   These are the pics we got.

Day 220 - Grand Canyon - Watchtower

We entered the park via the East entrance and the first view of the Canyon, is at the Watchtower.

Day 219 - Montezuma Castle

This is off the interstate on the way up to the Grand Canyon.

Day 217 & 218 Phoenix International Raceway

We had such a great time doing all the fan fun items...seems like everyone was still at work...no lines, no crowds, perfect.   We watch cup practice and qualifying as well as the Nationwide race.

With 10 years of the kids done, I'm going to take a break from them and do some vacations and Caity pages.

This is our first day in Phoenix from our trip earlier this month.

Huge group for Christmas this year.   Added to Great Grandma, was Uncle Tom and Claire from our Canadian Club.   Claire brought Tourtiere Pie...a French Canadian Christmas tradition.

Day 202 & 203 Halloween and Dracula

Kids really loved halloween this year and then we went to see Jeff in the play "Dracula".   He was awesome.  The kids are pretending to push a stake into his heart.

Leaves was something we didn't have till we moved into our home  in Pepperwood.   We didn't like raking but the jumping was fun!

Day 197 - Vacation Mr Rushmore

On our last day, we crammed in a ton of stuff, including a drive along the needles highway and a stop at Mount Rushmore.

Day 196 More vacation

We had such a good time panning for gold at the Broken Boot Mine in Deadwood.   The kids were sure we were going to be very rich!   We also went to see boot hill where all the outlaws, including Wild Bill, were buried.

Day 194 & 195 More vacation

Wall Drug (corniest place on earth) and the surrounding Rapid City area.

Day 193 - Vacation - The Badlands in North Dakota

We couldn't afford the time or money to go on an extended vacation this year, due to the cost of moving into a new house, but we weren't about to not go on one at all!   A long weekend in the Black Hills was perfect.
